Somewhere Between 75 Hard and a Nap: My Medium 40 Era

Recently I've been craving a reset, a rebirth- not just for my body but for my mind, my soul, my whole life- while supporting my nervous system too.
I've been hearing/seeing lots about the '75 Hard Challenge' and while I love a good challenge and love me some good dedication to discipline (I'm Capricorn ruled)- for me the 75 hard doesn't hit certain areas of growth I'm trying to hit. It also feels too much bootcamp and not enough grounding.
I'm dedicated to the soft, joyful, intentional, flowing life and also want to take care of my vessel along the way and push myself to the next level.
So I made up the Medium 40 Wellness Challenge for myself and Spirit said to share it with y'all.
It's 40 days of healing, self love, care for my body, overall elevation of frequency- mind, body and soul.✨️
Why Not 75 Hard?
I know it works for some people, and I get the appeal. The discipline, the results, the accountability. But for me? It felt like too much push and not enough presence. I’m in a season where I need rhythm more than rigidity. I need something that honors the fact that I’m not just a body—I’m also a mind and a soul.
I wanted a wellness challenge that actually supported my nervous system instead of frying it. Something that helped me feel more like myself, not less. Something that was pushing me to the next level, but not too fast, at the pace I need. And something I could stick too.
If the 75 hard is your thing- do that! And if you need something a little more healing for all parts of you- keep reading.
Okay, so what is a Medium 40?
Doing the Medium 40 is all about finding the new balance at the higher level I want to be. I think it's important to be elevating in life and striving for better. When I say better -I mean better health, better mindset, better boundaries, better at whatever area you need to be better at. That's accountability. We should hold ourselves accountable and continue to keep growing. And it doesn't have to be to the extreme like the 75 hard. It can be to whatever level you want it to be.
I'm always learning and growing, healing and hoping to be better. I'm doing this to guide myself further on this self healing journey.
A Medium 40 is - 40 days of upgrading your mind, body and soul in a sustainable, caring way.
Creating Your Medium 40 List
I made a list of all the things I think would elevate my life in 40 days (and I made some trackers, journal pages, and guides for the challenge-more about that later). Some things that I already do daily, some things I do occasionally but not consistently and some things I'm adding in. I'm going to be giving my full effort at this, my full effort also includes times of rest and nourishment. Taking care of myself.
I'm going to share my Medium 40 list below- but I encourage you to create your own list or change anything on mine that doesn't suit you and what you want to accomplish.
When creating your list or changing the one I'm giving you-think about things that will take you to a better level in health, life and healing. Make the things require you to put in some effort and dedication but not be so strict and hard that you quit after a week because of burnout. That's not good for our nervous systems. We want to find that happy medium where we are pushing ourselves to a place we want to be and striving to be better while maintaining care and rest for our bodies and minds in the way we need too as well. It should be challenging and require effort- but not so hard that you know your not gunna stick with it. Be honest with yourself.
On To The Medium 40 Challenge

Here is the list I created for myself
Eating Whole Ingredients
This is no processed foods or eating out, instead I'm eating whole ingredient, homemade, nourishing foods. My body feels so good when I do this. I eat mostly healthy, clean food and ingredients but I want to really lock in (as the kids are saying. 🤪) And since my body feels good doing this I want to keep doing it.
Daily Movement
This can be walking, Pilates, dancing, weight lifting, yoga, tai chi, whatever type of movement you like. I have already been adding in miles every week because I feel blessed to be able to walk again without a cane (a story for another time, if you've been here, you know). I'm also a stay at home, homeschooling mama and since I'm home a lot I don't get as much walking as I should and walking is so good for you. So I'm aiming at walking at least 5x a week. I am also going to be doing weight lifting, Pilates, or yoga a few times a week.
Sauna
The sauna is so good for you! This is something I am adding because I am working on clearing out toxins and old gunk from my body and the sauna will help do that. Also sweating is so good for your skin! If you don't have a sauna or this isn't important to you- don't do it. If you don't have a sauna and want to do something similar, take yourself a hot sauna bath. I'm going to aim for at least 4x a week.
Dry Brush and Shake Plate Daily
I'm doing this because I want to focus on cleansing my lymphatic system and keeping all the waste moving out of my body. Your lymphatic system doesn't move itself- you gotta move to move the gunk out babe! Dry brushing and shake plates are a great way to get the lymph moving- if you don't have those try rebounding or doing a lymph opening routine on Youtube.
Meditation and Breathwork 20 Minutes Everyday
My mind, body and soul will benefit from this. I meditate and do breathwork occasionally but not consistently and it has been something I have wanted to get better at so I added it to the medium 40 challenge. I challenged myself to 30 days of breathwork a couple years ago and it was an eye opening challenge. I healed an learned so much about myself during it- so I am excited to do it again.
*A book I injoyed about breathwork and just the importance of good breathing is - Breath: The New Science Of Lost Art by James Nestor
Get In The Sunshine
20 minutes of daily sunshine. Sunlight helps you with vitamin D, improves mood and mental health, helps with sleep, bones, immune health, eye sight, skin, so much I can't even list it all. Get in the sun! If you are sensitive to the sun go out in the rising sun because it is less powerful.
Create a list that works for you!
Other things you could add or swap in the medium 40
Journaling
Reading
Oil pulling
Take your vitamins and herbs
Pray
Add what you need to get better at!
Push yourself to elevate to the next level in a way that heals you on a deeper level. This challenge is not about being perfect, it's about being present. It's about a rebirth in a beautiful healing way. Taking care of our mind, body and soul. Real dedication to ourselves. Honestly, it’s about being awake to my life again. But in a softer way.
My hope is that by the end- these things will have become so normal in my daily life and much easier to do that I will continue to live that way.
Want to Try It With Me?
Just decide to show up for yourself for 40 days in a way that is elevating you. No guilt. No shame. Just presence, intention, and maybe a little crystals, crying or prayer if you’re into that.
You can make your own version. Add rituals that matter to you. Light a candle, write a love letter to your future self, blast music and dance in your kitchen. Whatever gets you back to yourself.
If you want to join me, I created a Medium 40 Bundle to help you along your journey. You don't need anything tho- you can just start dedicating care to yourself right now.
But if you're like me (someone who loves lists and trackers) then this bundle is for you. The bundle will elevate you to the next level and help you stay consistent.
The Medium 40 Bundle Includes- 13 pages

Maybe What We Really Need Isn’t Harder Challenges—It’s Deeper Care.
I’ll be sharing more about this as I go on—what’s helping, what’s not, and what I’m learning along the way. (Probably through email and on Instagram so sign up for my email list to get little love notes from me. )
But for now, this is where I am: somewhere between 75 Hard and a nap. And honestly? It feels just right.
